The Business Case for Mindfulness at Work
- Stress Management and Burnout Prevention
- Challenge:Stress and burnout are among the top drivers of absenteeism, presenteeism, and staff turnover.
- Evidence:A University of Nottingham study found that employees with higher mindfulness in digital work environments were significantly more resilient against stress, anxiety, overload, and burnout driven by constant digital demands
- How MIB Coaching Helps:Participants learn proven mindfulness techniques to regulate stress, calm the nervous system, and foster resilience. Even short daily practices (10 minutes) have been shown to activate the prefrontal cortex, supporting better emotional regulation and reducing stress (Holzel et al., 2007).
- Clarity and Better Decision-Making
- Challenge:Decision fatigue and cognitive overload are major barriers to effective leadership and productivity.
- Evidence:Harvard Business Review (2022) highlights mindfulness as a tool to reduce cognitive bias and improve clarity in complex decision-making.
- How MIB Coaching Helps:By training participants to notice reactive patterns and create space between thought and action, MIBS cultivates sharper, more confident decision-making skills
- Enhanced Focus and Productivity
- Challenge:Constant distractions and multitasking erode concentration and efficiency.
- Evidence:Studies at the University of California (2021) show that mindfulness training improves sustained attention, reduces workplace errors, and increases efficiency.
- How MIBS Coaching:The program strengthens attention regulation and deepens concentration, enabling employees to focus more effectively on high-value tasks.
- Improved Communication and Collaboration
- Challenge:Hybrid and fast-paced work environments can weaken interpersonal connections and lead to miscommunication.
- Evidence:Research from Deloitte (2022) links mindful communication to stronger team collaboration and higher employee engagement. Cultivating present moment presence has a range of benefits including deepening communication which are outlined in the article.
- How MIB Coaching Helps:Through experiential exercises, participants develop active listening, empathy, and presence—leading to clearer communication and stronger workplace relationships.

What Participants Say
“Firstly thank you again, I really enjoyed the course. The meditations would definitely have been my favourite part. I surprised myself, that with practice I became better at tunning out the noise around me and focus on grounding myself. This I try to put in to practice at least once a day. I will say at the beginning of the course I thought I knew about mindfulness but throughout the course I came to learn that it is so much more. Some of the practices especially the PAUSE has become valuable in my work and family life. It’s not easy making time to practice but it slowly is becoming a habit 😊“
Caroline Gallagher Bus Eireann
“The course helped me to connect the practice of mindfulness to the workplace in away I have not previously explored. It was a great balance between theory and the practice of mindfulness”
